I can’t tell if it was intentional, but your dream’s script author working on a typewriter makes him look that much more off-his-rocker than if he was on a computer OR writing with pen and paper.
My sister has the most bizarre dreams I’ve ever heard of. My favorite is when she dreamed she was one of a four-pack of broccoli, and they were trying to count themselves, but they couldn’t, because broccoli can’t count. 😕
All my dreams about adam involve him dramatically changing the strip into an episode of rugrats because he has small children and hss to tell the world how cute they are.
You meant drawing board instead of a typewriter I am assuming.
Doing bug drawings with a typewritter would be right up there with all the rest of those things that make you go “WHAT?!?”
I think what Rhea meant was “the comic has a typewriter instead of a drawing board like I think of when reading Adam’s cartoons”. Off-by-one comparisons are so syntactically ambiguous in English.
As a native English speaker whose home country speaks a dialect BETWEEN American and British, I agree completely. English is the hardest to learn as a second language, and learning it as a first language does a number on your ability to learn other languages.
Despite that comic he did a while back about “I’m glad that hard drive is wiped every morning”, I really think it would be cool if Adam started keeping a dream journal. There’s gotta be an enormous untapped reserve of comic ideas in there.
“scripts written for a good sci-fi show”
That’s nothing. My dreams once wrote a hentai manga. Like, page-by-page. Not plotless smut, either, it had a good emotional story and I woke up with tears on my face.
I just assume that everyone else also nearly always have the nonsense dreams, so they just make stuff up.

“… would confuse David Lynch” just went to the top of my A-list for best line ever.
Shouldn’t that be Ernest Bugnine? 😉

Frankly the first panel looks like what I think of when I read a fair number of Adam’s cartoons, except with a typewriter instead of a drawing board.

Give a round of applause to the English Language.
Tripping up native speakers and confusing everyone else for centuries.

I’m losing my mind over David Lynch bug.
Sounds like you need to take a trip to Spatula City!
YOU!!!!! [points shaky finger at Frankie D]
This is all your fault.

Lynch bug is magnificently drawn.
