Curling Up with a Good Book
Whew! I made it. The free-association week of Bug comics is officially over.
Having each strip relate in some way to the one that preceded it was sometimes easy to write (as I had a predetermined selection of topics to pick from) and sometimes it was downright frustrating to write (as I was forced to pick from one of those things). I had hoped to find some way to shoehorn in something to do with priests for this last strip so I could close the loop, making the entire week of strips relate to each other, but oh well. I can always try it again.
I ended up under my bed one time.
I'm not really sure what I was doing.
In the last comic he was dismembering a corpse, and in the first panel he’s being monitored by the police.
OK, here's what I got:
Saws, cut wood.
And paper, is made of wood.
and books, are made of paper!
Or: In the second panel of yesterdays comic, Lady bug is sitting on a chair, reading a book, and bug is standing next to the lamp next to it, BUT, in this comic, bug is sitting in the chair, and lady bug is standing next to the spine holder! Coincidence? I THINK NOT!
Other than that, I got nothing.
Also, love the first panel. "I wish I was a REAL cop." Nice.
In the last comic he was dismembering a corpse, and in the first panel he’s being monitored by the police.
Wow, I used to read in that pose in panel 3 when i was a kid! But now, it's more like panel 2 and 4, anywho, keep up the good work!
Good work, Adam!
I never thought of reading a book as an opportunity to take erotic pictures.
Rule 34…
oh wow, i didnt even realize you were connecting all your comics this week. haha thats pretty awesome. good job brah!
Why does bug have a suitcase on his head in panel 1?
I think it's a spirit level.
It's a level.
It's not a suitcase, it's a water level… took me a few seconds to realize…
I must be buying the wrong water levels, then. Mine look nothing like that.
Cool, I see it now. Some spirit bubbles/diagonal lines would have been helpful visual cues.
Its not a suitcase. Its a level to check his posture.
Gravity exerts a disproportionate amount of force on people reading in chairs or on couches. Direct sunshine is a multiplier.
I'm guessing the connection is that there was a chair in panel two yesterday?
It was always the same for me with essays. Give me a topic, and I'll leave it till the last minute and begrudgingly churn out a paragraph or two of mediocre material and then fluff it up as much as possible with big words, quotations, and font size and margin adjustments. Let me pick the topic, and I'll write a mini-novel and want to write another.
I used to hang upside down in chairs like panel 3 also! I love the cop in panel 1 "Wish I was a real cop". That's perfect!
This is one of my recent favorites. Every panel is killer.
Lick your finger. Haha! 🙂
my mom is the posture police
Last panel… KILLER!
Keep 'em coming… I love every strip!
I missed the relationship between the comics
…..but it was because I was too busy reading them.:)
its funny how we use a chair, especially when you are using the chair as a footrest while laying on the floor
Frame 3 is genius!
Wait … bugs have spines?! I thought they were exoskeletal.
Gah! I need to stop reading Bug in the middle of class >< I laugh way too loud, or at least Big makes me laugh loud XD
I love how the invertebrate Bug has a spine haha. Anyone else catch that?
Love this comic so much.
Well, shoot– I was hoping today's strip was going to be about dismembering corpses.
Eww! Glasses Bug is disgusting.
Panel 4 had people giving me strange looks on the train 😀
Oh man this one is awesome. Laughed my ass off on every panel.
Haha panel 4 had me crackimg up, u sir are good at making something that is totally not dirty, sound dirty
I liked this weeks comics. Maybe next time you could try coming up with the connections first and then writing the comics around them. It probably would only require coming up with seven connected gags and writing some more for the ones in between.
That's what I like about this comic. Most four panel webcomics only have one slightly amusing punchline. This one has four, ranging from good to brilliant.
I completely indetified with today's comic. It didn't make me laugh so much as it amazed me. One of my favorites, for sure!
I just realised I was kneeling on my chair backwards with the chair back facing the screen…
MY GOD I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO DOES ALL THESE
I did a Google Search for "Sexy Book-Reader Monthly." I thought it would be pretty good.
It wasn't.
so meaningless.. so funny.. I LIKE ^_^
'Lick your finger before you turn the page! Yes! That's so hot!'
Funniest thing I ever heard!!!!!
I know you've probably had this said to you a gazillion times but- your comic is amazing. I love the simplicity of the 'bugs' and all the hidden references
sprinkled everywhere! I still can't believe you can come up with a strip that makes me laugh at every panel five days a week.
Wow I could not stop laughing at this…..Especially since I was just doing those different poses. Love this strip so much.
There is a Tumblr of hot guys reading books, for anyone who liked panel 4.
