If you deal with a lot of nerds and geeks, you really need a katana. The real ones are pricey, but even the cheap knock-offs will silence a geek or nerd in one clean blow.
You should check out Angel Sword co. They hold the world record of slicing through 25 tatami mats in one go using a great katana, which I got to pet recently at Scarborough. I’m not making payments on a Persian long dagger with a Turkish weave hilt, part of their Balrog series. They make the best swords and yes…they are pricey.
This strip got me thinking…I have a buddy whose brother does metal sculptures. Maybe I could get him to make me a scepter out of something sturdy like steel, with a bronze head that has my family seal on it….
But what would I use it for? A conversational piece to be sure, but what practical uses? A beating tool as you describe, no doubt. Maybe also a deadly weapon for home defense? I suppose the sides of the head would be spiked to allow for awesome bludgeoning…oh, and a longer spike on the tip for piercing the flesh of my enemies!
I know someone else is gonna say it, so I may as well: that first apostrophe shouldn't be there in the third panel; it's "in its holder". Do nerds get hit by the scepter too? 😉
The dialog callout line has always looked like a 3rd antenna. Today, it reminds me more of a jester’s hat minus the bells. That would make the sceptre a marotte!

I like this idea.
I prefer to carry a mace in my car rather than the pepper spray "mace".
It does seem to pack more of a punch!
Geeks are always serfs.
Chaucer & Raven: Are you guys closet geeks/nerds?

Yep. You’re right. Good catch. Will fix.
This has got to be one of the more completely random bug comics. I like it.
I'm still considering getting a sceptre though.

As a Briton, I feel the need to point out that we have the most awesome sceptre in the world.
What’s so special about it?
It incorporates the world’s largest clear diamond, the Cullinan I

It’s the size of a goose egg and weighs 530 carats.
Heh, the third panel…hilarious!
Get one that has a flower on it, the points of the leaves will leave a lasting impression on the subject of you imprudence
that would be pretty imbarassing to have a flower scared into your face. XD
