Yes, because the opposite of hate is sand. I should give more sand to my gf. I wonder why sand is even there, I can’t think of something edible that sand goes into it(as an ingredient).
I agree with Ataro on the first comment: Both malice AND contempt give those hatewiches an extra special…something. Can’t quite put my finger on it.
Also, I agree that you DID mean to rub it in, Adam. And yes, the “newsies” cap really sells the “despairing orphan” bit.
Nice. What next, women who wear shoes 3 sizes too small? Cruel Shoes, ala the Steve Martin bit. (that’s a little random, innit?)
I kinda like hate-wiches. The contempt gives it flavor.
Lost it on the 3rd panel XD
Between the Sauron’s ring comment and the look of violent hatred on Lunch-bug’s face, I never stood a chance.
Pretty funny, though getting a bit close to that “too far” section.
Don’t jump the “too far” line, then my mother would judge me for reading this strip!
The orphan’s Newsies cap was a nice touch. 🙂
The best part was that he’s not even an orphan!
Oh wait I misinterpreted the last panel, pretend I never said anything! 😛
It’s up there with the baby vending machine and the “aww, no cute ones”, nice and cruel, I love it!
Hmm. Forgive me, but is that supposed to say “hate-witches”?
I tried googling “hate-wiches”, but it just autocorrected wich to witch.
No, it’s a play on the word “sandwiches”…since the grilled cheese is the ultimate expression of a mom’s love, the opposite would be a “hate-wich”.

Heh the English language can be quite amusing.
They were invented by the 4th Earl of Sandwich, John Montagu. The constituent words really have nothing to do with it.
Sorry, they are named after him. He did not invent, only ordered one once and therefore he deserves the namesake. According to Wikipedia, anyway.
OOOOOOOHHHH.
Now I understand. Thanks.
It’s supposed to be hate-wiches, playing off of sandwiches. It’s okay, took me a minute to figure it out.
Moms who make grilled peanut butter sandwiches love their kids even more than those that just make grilled cheese.
I would think that part of the love is shown by being willing to clean up after making that.
Mentally tagging the strip as “going to Hell for laughing” and “worth it”.
The real winning combo is mom-made grilled cheese + tomato soup + rainy summer day.
You can taste the motherly love.

P.S. I love the cheek on one side puffing out as they’re eating. Nice touch, Adam!
Where is timmy’s crutch?
Main character being a jerk to the less fortunate? For a second there, I thought I was reading “Least I Could Do”!
Then I thought “Wait, I’m laughing. This can’t be LICD.”
LOL well played, sir, well played.
I must be in the wrong place. This just isn’t funny.
Yeah, I this may be the first time I couldn’t find the humor in a Bug comic. :I
Humor is subjective. This cracked me up. Awesome comic.
