Sorry to make you mad! I didn’t think it was offensive either, if that’s any consolation. I think the Linux community has had problems attracting female developers in the past, so they’re more sensitive to this sort of thing.
As a mathematician, you’ve pretty much got me pegged. Then again, I’ve always been a fan of the lowest common denominator of humor. Ask any of my students.
