Captain of Industry Bug looks like he’s smokin’ a big ol’ Doob. Cannot be unseen. Just sayin’.

In he late 1880-1890s America, smoking a large cigar was a status symbol. Anti-big business cartoonist of the era adopted the outsized cigar, the big belly, the monocle and the splayed front stance as icons of the big business leaders of their day. They were probably heavily influenced by the image of J.P. Morgan fused with Teddy Roosevelt.
