OK, I’ve been reading your comic since the beginning and I gotta ask now: What is with all the comics about little kids??
Don’t mistake me, I think it’s adorable and consistently hilarious – I just wondered whether you have a kid, or are dating somebody with a kid, or something, because that’s definitely a theme.
Having absolutely no knowledge of automobile anatomy (besides the basic stuff like engines and tires), I’m curious: is the alternator an actual car part, or just a running joke in these comics?

Yeah, but I don’t think I’d trust her with my car engine. She’d probably rig it to explode when I turned the key, or cut the brake line, or something.

The alternator is a real part, it is what charges the car battery and powers the electrical components. It is driven by the engine via a belt.
