The upside down cross is a symbol of humility and loyalty to Jesus. It’s even on the Pope’s throne. So, if someone takes offense to this, they don’t even understand their own religion.
The story goes that, some saint whose name I cannot recall, was to be crucified. But he did not think himself worthy of being executed the same way as Jesus. So he requested his Cross be placed upside down.
Enjoy being able to laugh at goths and metal heads that think the upside down cross is a Satanic Symbol so they get it tattooed on their person or wear it as jewelry. 😀
It usually religious people with less knowledge about their own religion who easily offended by something the deemed not fitting with their point of view.
Saint Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland. And it wasn’t an upside down cross, it was a cross on it’s side; it’s where the saltire on our flag comes from.
Never been one for religion, but every time I see someone make a mention to the actual meaning behind the inverted cross, all I can think about is Legend of Zelda: A Link Beteeen Worlds and how many fanartists associated an inverted Triforce with evil characters.
The ridiculous thing about this is that I read it only minutes after having eaten a “fun” size bag of peanut M&Ms. Before breakfast. Which I still have not eaten.
I was Pedobear for Halloween this year, giant head and all… had leftover candy for breakfast this morning… and all the Halloween decor has been removed from the porch save two jack-o-lanterns, which are gradually melting a large fuzzy patch into the deck. Its like this comic is speaking to me somehow…
Call me crazy, but I fail to see how an upside-down cross would make sense as a Halloween decoration.
(Also, something I just noticed as I was typing this: have you always had that smiley face in the bottom-left corner of the webpage?)
Is go screw an insult I’m not familiar with?
Sounds like it.
Alternatively, you might be unusually excited about fastener technology. Go screw!
You better bolt!
Nailed it.
You pegged it.
Such riveting commentary!
Got me attached.
C’mon guys, y’all are hammering this to death.
Like it was an affixation.
Geez, that’s enough of THIS thread…
(sorry, couldn’t resist)
Just when we were bonding.
So we’re just gonna keep rotating this joke around?
I want to continue the chain. So I hope all who read this post their comments replying to one of the comments above
So we’re just gonna keep rotating this joke around?
If we have enough leverage.
I’m fulcrum.
You’re all nuts.
Parts is parts.
Well, I don’t think we’ve hammered the point home enough.
ahhh nuts, we’ll just gonna have to keep pounding at it till it sticks then.
It looks to me like the puns are all sewn up now.
if you are not too careful some extreme religious group might take offense to your third panel
Heh… I’m thinking if they’ve been reading BugMartini for very long, they’ve been offended WAY before now. Just sayin’.

Peter, I think.

Peter the apostle is held to have been crucified on an inverted cross. Different from St. Andrew.

When your mold starts to talk it’s probably because it’s made its way into your brain.
Pumpkins don’t have brains tho 😮
Why all the sudden hate against Furries?????
We’re not that bad, honest.
You now fill the ecological niche left behind by the Clown.
For what it’s worth, I don’t think furries are weird 🙂 I mean, I don’t understand it, but it’s harmless fun, so…
I’m wondering the same thing! That’s what I’m here for, after all!
I like how the mold is a sentient being
Funny, I was just talking to a furry about the costume contest he won the other day with his fursuit… I know who I’m sending this comic to!

What if the Bug furries become furries because they’re TINY HUMANS?!

The smiley is generated by a WordPress plugin called Jetpack, they use it for tracking visitor stats apparently: https://jetpack.me/tag/site-stats/
Neither; that’s St. Peter’s cross!
