Speaking as a vegetarian (since 1973), there have been too many times in the past when the small salad turned out to be the whole meal. Bug has nothing to complain about.
As an Omnivore since 1985, I found this comic to be amusing. Your taking it too seriously almost made me sad. Then I realized you don’t get to enjoy hamburgers, and I felt smugly superior instead. I think I’ll have extra bacon with breakfast today. Cheers!
This statement immediately made me want to suggest an alternative of a hamburger made of salad, until I realized that would just end up disappointing everyone involved.
Agreed. I always feel bad for steamed vegetables. I see them and think, “Aww….You could’ve been something good, but someone who hates taste prepared you.”
Steamed/boiled vegetables are fantastic, just so long as they aren’t over cooked. Which they nearly always are.
Much better off a little on the crunchy side than soggy and tasteless!
(Also, all the good stuff leaches out, so you might as well eat the soggy cardboard they start to resemble)

I wasn’t taking it seriously, but since you’re going to be snotty about it, I’ll probably live longer than you.
Funnily enough, you probably won’t. http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0088278#abstract0
Vegetarianism actually tends to lead to poorer health than omnivorism.
Let’s take this whole discussion one step too far

I can’t believe that conversation actually happened
Why are you such a genius, Adam? The Bacos were the coup de grĂ¢ce.
I want a salad made of hamburgers!

In place where I come from, most salads also contain meat, so garlic bread is most vegetarians can count on…
I have been a vegetarian my entire life and I have never once eaten a salad. It’s much easier to avoid them then the average Joe would think.
As a vegetarian, I am insulted at the belief that we don’t eat unhealthy food. Umbrage!
Some people have been shocked that I do not like or eat steamed vegetables, which is the worst way to prepare vegetables.

still better than boiled vegetables
that’s how my grandma used to make them
You misspelled “the best way”.
Seriously, if I never eat “steamed vegetable medley” again it’ll be too soon.

Too bad Bug isn’t a crocodile.
Fear is their bacon bits.
Love my steamed veggies, actually. Also, love this comic.
