Yep. Moody Blues – Once Upon a Time, RHCP – Water under the Bridge, Billy Joel – Scenes from an Italian Resturant, Alice DJ – Better off alone, there’s a few others on that “mix tape” (actually a CD) and pretty much all are from one girl. Occasionally when I need to be reminded NOT to call her I will put it on and reminisce about the time she Cut my heart out with a garden spade.
I believe there’s a country song called, “I Gave Her My Heart and a Diamond and She Clubbed me With a Spade.” Possibly by the same singer who did, “I’ve Got Tears In My Ears From Lying On My Back In Bed While I Cry Over You.”
Reminds me of a crazy song I heard. I’ll try to translate it:
The farmer is a moron I’m gonna burn his farm down
the barn burns quite wonderfully the pigs go up in flames
The farmer’s wife , she is small, she makes him get a move on
he shall bring two buckets of water, and not a sack of flour
A few years ago (before i-Pods) I was at an auction that featured an original Edison gramophone, complete with a box of wax cylinders. A boy came up and asked me what it was. I told him it was the first version of a record player. He didn’t know what a record player was. I explained that was how people listened to music before tapes. What are tapes? We moved on to CDs. His mother came up to see why he was talking to the strange old lady and he said excitedly ” Look Mom, the first CD player”
I volunteer in a local history museum. They have a working gramophone in the collection. One of the guides loves to show it to the school kids. Look, no wires!
I doubt you need to worry about that. no one has a working casette player anymore
Kids now a days are like; “What’s tape?”
Okay. Just substitute that for a CD/DVD/USB. That doesn’t change the greatness of that Mix.
What’s a CD?
It’s a milder version of OCD.
So that would be Discalced Carmelites without order?
Just tell them it’s like vinyl but more modern.
I still do… But I would have to look deep for any tapes.
Yeah, nowadays all the cool mixtapes are done in Audacity or AfterEffects or something B-)
And of course the mix tape would have the great cover song of the Short-Order Cooks – “My Tomato’s gone and My Bacon is limp.”

And NOW Im going to go home and crawl into a bottle when i get off work.

All music makes me think of past sandwiches. Doesn’t it affect everyone like that? Whaaaaaat?
I laughed a little too hard at panel 1 but that might be because it reminds me of myself cept a noose wont hold my weight in my house.
