Yes, you are absolutely allowed to say “I was in a fight” when you could also say “I was beat up.” It only requires one of the involved parties to be actually fighting for it to be a fight.
The rule is that you are “in a fight” if you have some sort of involvement. If you’re just watching, nope, you’re not IN the fight, you’re just NEXT TO the fight. However, if someone throws something, and it goes near enough to you that you flinch, then you can say that you were IN the fight, even if nobody else ever noticed you.
Cringing and crawling away totally counts as being in the fight, and therefore being a fighter.
So I’ve been binge reading all of these from the very beginning for the last few weeks, and I gotta ask…
Do you come up with the title or the comic strip concept first. Cause either way, it’s pretty impressive.
“The unpopular side of a pummeling” … aye! 😀
…sounds like a good name for a rock band, amiright?
Well, so does Bug Martini, for that matter…or is it just me?
Nice asterisk, Adam!
I would be a little leery of holding up an asterisk. But then, I guess it’s your ass to risk. 🙂
Nicely done!
Did he just get beat up by Nerd Bug in panel 1?
Yep. It’s a wuss-on-wuss crime.
LOL for the second time!
‘you just beat up the most harmless kid in school’
For some reason, you bouncing a baby on it’s butt by smacking it down made me laugh.
Oh man, that’s awesome
Hey someone should start making hats with an asterisk.
That’s a great idea*!
When you’re in school, you get punished for “getting in a fight” if someone beats you up. As far as I’m concerned, nobody gets to take that back.
Exactly. I did my time in detention after getting pummeled. I’m claiming “knock-down-drag-out brawl” and calling it even.

I was in a police chase once!
Yup! I was driving along when a criminal flew past me.
A few seconds later, as I pulled over, a police cruiser passed by me.
For a brief second, I was “in between the action”! 😀

Glad you’re digging the comics! The strip always comes first. Sometimes I get lucky and find a perfect title.
