I prefer the pictures of people pretending to push it over. I’d like to see a picture of two people: one pushing it over, one trying to hold it up. Maybe a third guy pretending to do something vaguely or explicitly inappropriate with it as though the other two aren’t there.
It’s always really funny to see pictures of the crowds of tourists around it. They’re all doing the same pose, as though *their* picture of the exact same thing as everyone around them will be funny and original and something their friends and family have never sen before.
I’d like to see more jokes about homeownership, actually.
I’m sure you’ve got plenty more material to work with on the subject by now, Adam Tuber.
You’ve got more young and hip readers than you realize, and we’re all in this housing market together.
It took 199 years to finish. It began to lean in year 3, and shortly after construction was abandoned for nearly a century. That was good -it allowed the ground to settle and compact. When work resumed, they tried to compensate by making the “lower” side taller than the “upper”. Yes – it’s slightly curved.
A monument to every builder whose result wasn’t up to spec. Seems like we shouldn’t be honoring old What’s his name.

Go ahead and laugh, but it’s 700 years old and still standing (er, leaning).
The interesting part is it’s only like 4 degrees off.
Interesting bit is if you look at the tower carefully, it has a slight bend in it in an attempt to compensate for the tilt…
