You did. I distinctly remember a frame about how a dress would be highly conducive to gorging, as well as your character commenting how he can “take reaction photos with ease” while the wind lifted his dress in the back.
They did way back when. That is where the ladies purse came from.
Modern designers took it away since those guys are weird crazies that get lots of attention for stuff they don’t wear but want to.
Honestly when I see some fashionable ensembles, I think the designers either forgot it was supposed to be worn in public, or just really really hate models. No way they’d want to wear them themselves. The best proof: most of them wear uber-classic clothes.
Love how the first one begins with “I’m surprised that…” and this comic starts with “I’m _really_ surprised that…”
I’m sorta expecting a third comic on the subject to finish the arc now. Which, as a bonus, would mean we can expect another comic in the toilet cleaning saga!
A Bangladeshi friend of mine gifted me a lungi after I saw him wear one in his dorm room and found it cool. I love wearing it around the house. My wife is not a fan, but OMG, the freedom! If only more people would discover the joy of airing out your junk…
As a devoted briefs man and occasional practitioner of manual labor including power tools, that’s one area I’d rather keep securely tucked out of harm’s way whenever possible.
As a guy who wears a dress fairly regularly, you’d be surprised how inconvenient a dress is to hike up for peeing. It’s like an excessively long shirt, and assuming you’re still wearing underwear, you are still inconvenienced that way.
I was sad the first time I realized this was the case.
Totally agree. Living it a hot climate I wish I could go the skirt as a male. More airflow to heat sensitive regions, and eliminate the chance of self wedgy when sitting in shorts.
Maybe time to examine family history to justify a kilt.. (“My great-great grandfather once visited Scotland”)
I had a similar thought few days ago, rewatching a Star Trek movie and seeing the Vulcanians walking around in their robes. Aren’t those not only more comfortable, but also elegant and sexy? I’d love to see men walking around like that. They also make them look slimmer and broad-shouldered!
I once considered trying out the traditional Arab garb, while doing a lot of work in a desert. From a purely practical standpoint it stands to reason–they have had thousands of years to come up with cloths for that area, and have to have had SOME success. However, being a male in his late 20s in a very conservative area, I realized that from a survival standpoint, this plan was poorly thought-out. Too many people would shoot first, and ask about the thermodynamic and fluid dynamic implications later. 🙁

Yeah, you did draw another comic quite like this. https://www.bugmartini.com/comic/dress-for-success/
Redoing the topic doesn’t make this comic any less enjoyable, though.
How did I miss that? At least I did fairly different jokes.
If you add a “Part 2” to the title you can make it look like it was on purpose.
Also, this:

Definitely missed this in 2010.
Ha’e ye niverr heard o’ a kilt?
That’s co-opting the skirt. Co-opting the dress is a toga.
…Though the part about interior pockets I wish they would do for female versions…

Yup you did one. Made a very similar intro, too. But I don’t mind because the new ideas are funny, and it feels like a follow up on the previous one.
Good catch! I wish I had a repeated idea only once every 5 years…

Coming to think of it, the two might merge. Exciting times!
It’s the ‘freshly cleaned bathroom’ fiasco, all over again! XD

That phrase always makes me envision a rednecks front yard.

Alas, the market for dresses for men is too small a niche for a genius inventor to put a conveniently placed zipper on them.

My Grandmother once intended to conquer Scotland. Or maybe the story was that she kicked a bagpipe player. Close enough. I’m switching to kilts now.
Ahh but Scotland isn’t known for it’s hot climate. (Hence the wool)
Look into the wrap skirts that south pacific islanders use.
