This complaint about werewolves really depends strongly on which interpretation of werewolf you’re using. If I’m not mistaken, the original “folklore” version of werewolves involved people able to choose to turn themselves into wolves to attack others, and probably retained control of themselves while in animal form.
The cursed werewolf is mostly a European legend, The voluntary shape sifter more Native American. Pop culture has mixed everything together and the distinction was lost.
It’s not much, I know, but Wikipedia at least agrees with me. Lycanthropes in European folklore specifically were seen as a kind of witch, i.e., not merely a “cursed” person but someone who intentionally invoked evil powers to turn into a wolf.
To be honest, werewolves are cooler than vampires, because you can only be killed by silver bullets, and you’re still a mortal which means you don’t have to outlive your loved ones.
I saw this comment from two years ago and I still stand by it. Vampires are allergic to garlic, prone to sunburns, and too stubborn to buy modern aluminum-lined mirrors.
Hey, a non-Bug animal in a Bug strip. Cool.
(And good strip, as usual. :))
You might want to fix panel 2 so that it reads “….95% OF THE….”
Good catch! Will fix.

Hmm, Alpo shots. Do they come with a tennis ball chaser?
Well, they’re done by a tennis ball chaser.
Only if you throw the tennis ball first.

Shape Sifter =/= Werewolf.

Should be Shifer – a shape sifter is a cursed baker 🙂

There’s no way of knowing what the “original” version was. These things are cobbled together from centuries of scattered local myths.
