Don’t Adjust Your Television…
Hey guys!
Just a quick post to let you know that the site is going under a few little changes. The guy who pretty much made it possible for folks to use WordPress to upload comics, Phil (aka: Frumph), has created a new theme to better facilitate a webcomic called Comic Easel. Not one to stand in the way of progress, I gave him the green light to make the switch. I gotta say that the user-interface is much more user-friendly on my end. I’m hoping to play around with it this weekend and pretty up the site.
So things may be wonky for the next few days, but don’t fret. All the wrinkles will be smoothed out shortly.
How is such a subtle change so unsettling?
I adjusted my television anyway. So nya!
I’ll get used to the change but where is my comic for today?!
Comic Weasel?
Bleak =( Today’s my birthday and was REALLY looking forward to the Bug Comic… On another note: I’ve been reading through the archives (It’s taken surprisingly longer than I expected) and I’m completely head-over-heals for Bug! Thanks for all the entertainment, Adam =D
Phil is the best. He just helped me with my site a few days ago. I look forward to the new look!
I looked into Comic Easel. I wasn’t really impressed with the comic update aspect. I’ll be interested to see how this all shakes-out. So you actually had Frump convert you site?
Eh? okay.. what were you looking for in the way of updating?
Can’t remember what exactly my issue was with comic updating. I would have to reload the theme and take a look again. There was something significantly different in setting up the updates over Comicpress. Perhaps I was setting something up wrong.
I look this up at work, and for some reason, this theme loads up much faster than the previous one. And that’s always a good thing: more bug, more of the time!
Sweet!
Dunno if anyone else has the same problem, but the new theme repeatedly crashes my Safari ln IPhone and even if it works for once it takes forever to load…
I like the new color combo. Very eye-catching. Also like the new (?) Notify boxes at the bottom. Can’t wait to see what else you do.
Yeah, Comic Easel is pretty spiffin’. It’s definitely easier, in some ways, than ComicPress was.
The RSS feed no longer has the full strip. I liked the old way.
Like I said, the site will be wonky for a few days.
No problem. I’ll be patient. Thanks.
You can set that in the comic -> config Adam, what thumbnail goes into the RSS feed.
also the feed for just the comic is here: https://www.bugmartini.com/comic/feed/
I really find the white harsh and contrasting against the green. The old layout was great.
Yeah, I liked the old version too. The red is harder to look at.
Calendar doesn’t work. I usually read a week’s worth on Friday and click on Monday. This one only shows highlighted archives.
He’s using the calendar for the ‘posts’ there, there’s a different one for the comics that he could add to it.
