@Lucien ah, spoken like a true young person. As a young person I had totally different views than I do now. I thought I knew a lot about the world, when in fact I knew very little. It's not because I wasn't smart – I was extremely intelligent for my age – it's because I was young and hadn't yet experienced all that the world had to offer. Don't confuse intelligence for wisdom – they are different. Personally I think they should raise the voting age to at least 25, because until that point you're likely clueless and don't even know it. Rage at me now, but remember this post later and see that I'm right.
Me too. Well, I mean, I was 25 when this comment was written.
Intelligence and wisdom aren’t the same thing, yeah, but neither intelligence nor wisdom makes someone ‘good at voting’. What someone needs to make a good decision when voting is to be well-informed.
Teenagers are often better-informed than 40-80 year olds. After all, children don’t get a choice about what to listen to or who to interact with. Only adults do, which means adults often only listen to things they agree with. For teenagers, this is only a problem if their parents make sure they stay ill-informed.
Hahahahahaaaa! You’ve never, EVER, been near a high school or college. Teenagers THINK they are better informed. They parrot nonsense from social media. That is not being informed. Not even remotely.
It would be a good idea if they could keep it to the original purpose, and not have people just shouting "wise-ass!" and punching each other, without there have actually been a wise-ass comment.
Yeah, my mother encouraged me to be a smartass. She teaches mathematics and physics where you won’t get far without being one. Maybe we should be allowed to punch people who use “smartass” as some kind of insult?
I am me and I support this message!
Really. We got the idiot health reform bill passes, this surely would be a piece of cake.
Hello pot, meet kettle…
I support this bill (and a local version here in NZ)
I support this bill, but only if it goes for all people (cause everybody does that, not just kids), and for people who ask stupid questions as well.
I have better solution; kill half of the population by ''accident''.
On the behalf of NYRA, I say it's unfair that the eligibility to vote is based on age to start with.
Good Idea, they should base it on whether you pay taxes or not.

Those commercials with kids that are disrespectful to their parents make me think that a bill like that would be a good idea.

Wow, that was rather Grammar-death.
smart-ass *slaps*
oh, you were replying to yorself, I feel dumb now…
I would not have survived to ten had this been law…
Can we pass a law to get “cleanse” welfare people, crack whores, nasty children, and/or overall just dumb people out of my neighborhood?
And by cleansing, I mean shooting them, or running them over with lawnmovers.
Fuck off.
Which one of the four are you, “GuessWho”?
I don’t know… as a grown smartass myself, I think some adults NEED to hear those comments. I know more idiot adults than I do idiot kids.

Agreed.
I’m a sassy smartass with a crapton of sass.
