Back to the Hipster

I don’t expect everyone to know who the two guys are in the last panel, but if you don’t know who the guy (the one who speaks) in the first panel is then congratulations, you make me feel old.
Well done Adam ^^ laughed my behind off. And don’t worry, I know who the guys in the first and the last ones are. Even without google.
Maybe I’m old as well…
I knew the hipster in panel 2 et 3 before he was cool. And before he had a beard. That makes me feel old.
Hey, kid! Whad’da do, jump ship?”
Sooo… This leaves me with two possibilities:
Either you guys are way older than me, or I am just as old as you, but my memory is in way worse shape.
I think they put a clue in the strip title 🙂
My memory is not so good either, but a with a bit of Googling… George and Filby from “The Time Machine” (1960)? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054387/combined
The term hipster is offensive. I prefer culturally challenged.
Oh wow. I got the references to both the Back to the Future and The Time Machine.
Dear old Marty 🙂
What if I ONLY wax my mustache and listen to a gramophone?
I still don’t have a proper cell phone.
Despite being born on 1996, I got both references! I mean, I have only read The Time Machine book but haven’t seen the movie, so I just recognized the word Morlocks and the author’s name, but still… As for Back to the Future, I’ve only seen the first movie.
THIS IS A STEREOTYPE
I believe you mean “daguerreotype” . . .
This comment made my day! 🙂
Hey! I hot-glued some gears on my phone, so I’m totally cool with the Victorian stuff, right?

Perfect song ^^ I hate seeing stuff like that. Worst I ever saw ware goggles with a printed picture of gears behind the glasses.
I’ve read the time machine before, but I never knew it turned into a movie!
the book is better. It’s always better.
First panel, Marty McFly,
Last panel, H.G. Wells and Mark Twain.
Yup…I’m old
i don’t recall their names, but i do recall reading the book they’re from when i was a child. i think i must have read every book in the house cover to cover at some point, even drier things like the Dungeon Master’s Guide or the Bible. i read very quickly, you see, and i often suffer from insomnia, so even with frequent visits to the library i was always running out of books to read, thus i improvised.
thankfully, i eventually gained my own computer, and with it unfettered access to the internet, which solved that issue.
