Speaking of Spongebob, did you know he was voiced by Tom Kenny, who also voiced Heffer from Rocko’s Modern Life, the mayor from Power Puff Girls, Dog from CatDog
Jim Morrison invented sepia — among other things. And at least it wasn't a Winnie the Pooh pillow. That bear is pure evil. If there is a secret connection with yesterday's strip I don't wanna know what it is!
Winnie the pooh would have been more relevant seeing as it's just Christopher Robin Stubling around the woods trippin balls talking to animal representations of mental illnesses
I actually thought that it was a reference to a film called “They Call Me Bruce,” which had in turn been referencing “Roots.” Admittedly, I only think so because the title character was Asian, it could simply be coincidence.
i need to shuffle bug further down my bookmark list. nothing that comes after it compares, and i can prolong the thrill of knowing it is coming up soon..
No, yeah, I caught the Roots reversal. Lit Student Bunivasal is trying to analyze the deeper meanings of the name change reversal (imposing a Western standard on an African slave versus imposing an assumed Asian standard on an Asian American) but I told him to go back to writing treatises on the inherent gender bias in Two And Half Men.
Funny, Spongebob gives me that same feeling all the time and I don't do drugs….
spongebob IS drugs
Strange, nearly every anoying cartoon character does that to me.
Hmmmm….quite…..indeed

Don’t forget the Ice King! (Voiced by Tom Kenny)
Spongebob is one of my favorite TV shows! >:U
Hmmm… methinks it's time to start on opium den. Thanks for the tips, although I think I'll keep the spongebob pillows…

Opium, now in vanilla.

I'd like to hire Toby to mill around my den (non-opium variety).
First time posting, but this one made me lol hard. I love Bug.
Oh, thanks, I knew there were some things I was missing.
Squirrel…!
THE EYES OMG THE EYES!
Dude, they're just buttons.
Yeah, they're just button— THE EYES! HOLY CRAP THE EYES!
You could also get a beautiful asian woman and dress her in a red silk dragon print dress to walk around and be mysterious.
Toby was alway bad like that. More pillows
Dear bug,
I love you. Keep going.
Sincerely yours,
Davide.

Really? No one else caught the Roots reference? Nice job Adam, I haven't really been enjoying these for a while, but this one got a laugh.
I caught it!
"YO' NAME IS TOBY!"
I actually thought that it was a reference to a film called “They Call Me Bruce,” which had in turn been referencing “Roots.” Admittedly, I only think so because the title character was Asian, it could simply be coincidence.
I always knew sponge bob was filled with opium…
And for the love of all that is high and stoned.. do NOT get the life sized telly tubby pillow! Especialy if it is shaped just like them! >.<
(Now if you'll excuse me.. I have a life sized T.T. to secretly drop into a local opium den…)
I think Wong aka Toby is my new favourite random bug.

Isn't opium made from poppy seeds? I like to think that eating a poppy seed muffin in a coffee shop is my own little opium den.
Love this one! I hope we see Wong/Toby again.

4th panel: Reservoir Dogs! 😀
hahah toby's mustache style always makes the person look like a catfish xD
Always wanted to try opium… you'd be amazed how hard it is to find a decent opium den in NY!
Is the last panel a "Roots" joke?
Toby Wong? Toby Chang? Fuckin' charley chan.
is it bad that this is the first thing that came to mind when I saw this strip?
FU MANCHU!!!
I love Spongebob, and even the last panel offends me, IT’S SOOOOOO FUNNY!!!
