I was tempted to turn make this strip parallel the story from First Blood (the first in the Rambo movies) but I decided to start limiting myself to one old movie reference per week.

It’s sad that you have to clarify what ‘First Blood’ is – after we had a few who admitted to not seeing ‘Smokey and the Bandit’.
Rambo is an old movie now..? Geez, Louise! No way I’m bringing up Logan’s Run then…

If Rambo was in Logan’s Run, the red gem on his palm would be blinking now.
Also, did you realize that Disney’s The Little Mermaid came out closer to the moon landing than to present day? Also that people born years after Ghostbusters came out are having a second child now?
Some of us youngsters (I was born after Ghostbusters and have zero children) know Smokey and Rambo pretty well.
I never said you didn’t know them, just that you were born after them. Incidentally, I was born before Ghostbusters and also have zero children.
Not having kids leaves a lot of free time to watch old movies. It’s pretty great.
Yep, you can pretty much do whatever you want without worrying about a babysitter or that it’s midnight and you still haven’t made dinner.

If I were a zombie in Antarctica, I would enjoy the old movie references. There isn’t much cable in Antartica.
Aww, now I’m thinking of the poor zombies freezing in Antarctica with no cable and no one to eat.
But no one who attacks them either, I bet. Do zombies feel the cold?

I don’t think they’d register the cold, but without a source of heat, they’d all just freeze solid.
The trick is that you don’t toss it very high. And you do it over the counter so that, if it falls, you can just pick it up and try again.
I like to come back later in the day to read comments. Today it’s a good thing I did. I completely missed the joke in the last panel during the morning’s first read. Kudos on the 5-second rule reference, Adam.. and is that also a submarine sandwich crack, too?

I dunno, I don’t feel like any movie that came out after Star Wars is necessarily “old”.
