If you think genocide is a lot of work, you’re doing it wrong. You’re not supposed to kill everyone yourself, you’re supposed to inspire a legion of followers to kill everyone *in your name*.
Oh there were others in history far more blood thirsty.
They exterminated the historians and reporters from the loosing side while they were at it so very little records exist or they survived and made sure nobody pointed out how bad they were or others could not be bothered about it because it didn’t involve their personal interests.
Mao Zedong: Victims 60 million
Mongol Conquests: 20 – 50 million
Joseph Stalin: Victims 40 million
Adolf Hitler: Victims 30 million (includes combatants)
Turkey: Victims 2 – ?? million Armenians
North Korea: Victims 4 – ?? million Koreans + others
The counts on how many people Stalin killed are disputed, mostly due to the extremely strange twisted love affair that so many historians have for communism. But it is definitely in the high millions.
I listed Napoleon because he was a person famous for dreaming to conquer the entire world, rather than kill it, so I was probably somewhat off base with him.
Hitler made a name for himself because he didn’t want to just take over the entire planet, but he wanted to make it a better place (in his eyes) by eliminating all the inferior (also from his perspective) specimens of humanity.
What made him stand out is that he didn’t have these people shot on the spot, but instead rounded them up and shipped them to concentration camps where they were tortured and experimented on until they expired.
Hello there I’m a concerned parent and I have discovered my child frequently visits you inappropriate website I shall report u and have u banned and yes this I’d a joke
And everyone will say: “Meh. Hitler I was better…”
And of course, they’ll agrue about who shot first.
Oddly, this doesn’t seem to happen with great leaders. I’ve never heard anyone referred to as the “next Gahndi” or the “next Mandela”.

Sheesh. Kids today.
Next thing you’ll tell me is I should have to do my Ponzi scheme entirely by myself. I should enlist other people to help me with my ponzi scheme.
Oddly, this doesn’t seem to happen with cartoonists either. I’ve never heard anybody call Adam the “Next Gary Larson” or the “Next Tim Rickard”
It does happen with inventions though. No matter how great your invention is, it will only be as good as sliced bread.
Funny story. Sliced bread was not invented until 1928.
Funny story: billions of things are better than sliced bread. For example, the bread knife.
Funny Story, before sliced bread was invented, when you wanted to make a sandwich, you had to eat the whole loaf of bread.
The upside: Hitler’s record is hard to beat. (Aside: I wonder if he was ever described as “the next Napoleon”…)
The downside: If someone does beat it we’re screwed.

Your numbers are wildly inflated… a quick search pulled this up. http://www.nybooks.com/articles/2011/03/10/hitler-vs-stalin-who-killed-more/
