On a side note/rant: Why does everything have to be an app?! Why does win 10 call programs for apps? It is annoying.
I wish there we more options when it comes to operating systems…
If I want a children’s toy I’d buy Fischer Price!
/Workplace just upgraded to win 10. Have yet to meet someone who thinks it’s an upgrade and not just an inconvenience.
//And don’t get me started on Adobe Acrobat Pro DC!
There are 2 to 4 little semi-hidden programs running in the background thanks to M$Update than can thankfully [for now] be turned off so you don’t get that annoying popup and that sneaky download and install “feature”.
Welcome to my life (except that I won’t be in god’s way [partly ’cause there is none, but just the Monster which simply would fly away] but right on the path between the stripper factory and the beer vulcan).
YYYARRRGG!! My semi-truck is governed to 65mph. Matted to the floor, dent starting to show on the bottom side of the cab, all I get is 65mph (even going down a steep hill the engine brake kicks in and keeps me at a max of 65mph).
Damn four wheelers (cars) doing 64 3/4mph!!!!!!!!
And then, when I go to creep around them, they speed up.
No, that will be the maximum speed … Mahnarch wants to go the full 65 mph (100 kpm I assume) that is allowed, but is sometimes thwarted by a car going just slightly slower than that. Since M can’t jump up the speed to pass (like most of us 4 wheels do), he has to try to pass with a .5 mph advantage … but … the 4 wheel instinct is to speed up a tiny bit when someone wants to pass … don’t know where that comes from but I’ve defo seen it on highways that are two lanes (one direction each) … as soon as the highway gives cars a chance to have a 2nd lane, in order for faster cars to pass slower ones, the slower ones speed up …
That’s the old male competition reflex: “I’m the best/fastest/greatest/whatever”.
Either that or they get annoyed when they realize: “Oh, there are other people around me? Where did they come from all of a sudden?”
To your average driver/commuter that little bit of speed means nothing, but over the course of a 10 or 11 hour day a driver can make up or lose 2 hours – depending on if everyone around them gets distracted by their phones.
“I don’t live in the past. I also don’t live by your rules.
I’ll drive right through a red light. I don’t care. And, HEY!, if someone gets in a crash, I keep going! *whistles* I’M GOOONNEE!! That happened behind me! I don’t live in the past!”
guy goes through red light — don’t worry, my brother does this all the time … another red light, don’t worry, my brother does this all the time … green light, stops … my brother might be coming the other way
And you are relatively small. Think about us “bigger” guys. We try to be nimble and quick so we don’t bump people but doesn’t always work. I’m a big “Pardon me” guy.
When you die and get buried, Adam; in a decade or so the DOT is going to want to build a new highway through your town and guess whose grave is going to be smack in the middle of everything!
We have a new trainee. He seems to have that talent too.
He isn’t that big, just a standard shape, but no matter how wide the corridor is, he manages to use its complete space. When he’s looking for something in a closet you can bet that you won’t be able to pass behind him.
Even when he’s not there he manages to get in the way, or rather his chair, because he seems to be unable to put that thing back under his desk when he stood up and walked away.

Use Linux (I like Ubuntu). Free, not actually that hard, and fun! Whee!
But if god is omnipresent, he will also be in front of you as well, so there is no need to make way for him 😉
Yea but Adam just happens to be standing in the exact place God wanted to omni-be at.
I like the term “omni-be.”
at least you don’t have to worry about being trapped on a island.
Shoutout in todays TWB 🙂 http://www.the-whiteboard.com/index.html

Still better than being the guy who always has some yahoo in his way, moving at 85% of his speed and acting offended when he goes around them.

I take it that 65 is also your /minimum/ speed?

Exactly, Jon.

…that second “driver” means truck. The first means ‘car’.
“Anyone going slower than you is a moron; anyone going faster than you is a maniac.”
This applies both to driving in a car, pushing a cart at a grocery store, and/or walking along minding your own business.
The genius of George Carlin lives on. 🙂

Paraphrased, but that’s my favorite bit. 😀
ha!

Well, the Rhino could get off the trolley car if you weren’t blocking the door.
