I kind of have this problem as well, reading is such a strain on the eyes that you get tired. But I’ve always loved reading, so it sucks… that is, it did, until I started listening to audiobooks. Now I go through around 50 books a year, average about 12 hours/book. You can do it almost whenever, whatever you’re doing, it’s awesome. 🙂
I wish I could do audiobooks, but my mind wanders and I lose track of the story. Even when I read a real book, I occasionally realize I’ve read half a page and have no idea what it said. My eyes have “read” the words, but my mind wasn’t paying attention. But I agree with others — reading is the best thing to do at night to put me to sleep.
As a truck driver I try to listen to the traffic reports, but my mind wanders and next thing you know, “So, if you’re in that area you might want to find an alternate route…”
Ugh. I’m just the opposite. once I start reading a book at night, I can’t go to sleep until I finish it. Otherwise it bugs the crap out of me that it’s “not done”
…zzzzz…wha? Huh? Wha’s goin’ on? Oh, sorry, I fell asleep while reading this comic. Oh…I just finished it. Funny stuff. I didn’t snorfle my soda, but then I wasn’t drinking one or I may have.
Yeah, reading myself to sleep is never a problem. Unless, like Gene here, I get into a good book. Then…I’ma be late to work the next day. Want an example? Read “Gone for Good” by Harlan Coben. Couldn’t put it down. <—-Not a paid endorsement, just one of my favorite books of all time.
I read myself to sleep every night, so I completely identify with this strip! 🙂
I read on the can.
…I have woken up on the can.
reading when i go to bed is the only way i am able get the voices to shut up long enough for me to fall asleep.
Lucky you. Mine give a running commentary on whatever I’m reading.
Lucky YOU. You have voices to blame for the commentary.
Thank you for bringing the random button back!
The only reading that puts me to sleep is text books. Otherwise I can read til dawn.

I hate that.

WAIT! WHAT AREA?!!
That last panel about made me snorfle my soda.
Now that’s what I like to hear!
You got me with that, too, Adam. 🙂

Uh oh, no update yet. You didn’t read an extra long book last night, did you Adam? 🙂
Probably a sign of the apocalypse. We should start looting before the good stuff is gone.
Check out the latest news post. BM’s M/W/F now.
Just finished mini-binge reading the comics. Glad you’ve got the old website style back Adam! What day exactly did you convert back to this?
