There were, IIRC, 254 documented distinct First American peoples. Kinda of sad to see them all mushed together in the modern conscientiousness. Of course we do the same thing for every continent, e.g. “White people” including the whole of Europe, Africans and of course Asian, comprising 70% of humanity.
The mohawk was from the Mohicans, the feather headdress from the Sioux and scalping from the Iroquois.
In terms of geographic distance and cultures in Europe, that would be like making a joke combining Dutch clogs, Polish sausages and Swiss cheese.
