Liechtenstein is the small country next to Switzerland, whose banks hold the money of all those people that can afford to buy paintings by Roy Lichtenstein but don’t want to pay taxes 😉
Having played Avant Garde Scrabble many a time, I can tell you that “anything goes”.
It figures that Adam would pick an American Pop Artist and not some country in Europe. Everybody chill out, for crying out loud. This is a comic, not history, geography, and/or English class.
Just chill, sit back and enjoy the humor of it all! And this is coming from the guy known by his family as “The Spell Nazi”.
P.S. Adam, I love how Bug is pointing at Yoko across the table as he’s jumped up to shout “HA!” at her. Totally like playing scrabble with my family. Awesome as always.
Sheesh!
I was going to note that Bug didn’t knock his chair over when he jumped up in triumph, but if it’s an avant-garde chair, maybe he did. Love the Yoko Bug.
Hey U ass face. U call urself a cartuneist? You can’t even speill teh name of one of Europe’s mostest lovely city’s correctly. If I were you, Id burn myface with an Acetylene torch and dye.
I meen for GODSAKES, U could have looked it up on the internetz and got the correct spelling in like two seconds. It’s called Google U idiot.
x’D
“Cartuneist”… I think I’m going to use that now, If I figure out how to pronounce it without it sounding too much like “cartoonist”. There has to be a slight difference. Just enough to people not to know how to react.
Considering you failed to spell at least 13 words correctly (including the repeated “U”), not to mention the use of “mostest,” you have no right to insult a wonderful cartoonist. It would also help if you read previous comments explaining, “Lichtenstein, as Roy Lichtenstein.” –ECKY ECKY! Get your information straight before insulting a man that makes vastly amusing comics.
No, it’s just wrong to admit it publicly. Like…did you ever find Bugs Bunny attractive when he dressed up like a girl rabbit to confuse Elmer Fudd?
…
Me neither…I was just askin’…
There’s no sweeter victory than whooping ass at avant-garde scrabble. Word.
Beating Yoko Ono is the icing on the cake.
Yoko Ono says,”Proper nouns require a capital letter and are not allowable in Scrabble!”
Proper nouns are allowed in avant-garde scrabble. Also allowed are symbols such as the dollar sign and the Prince insignia.
That couch looks surprisingly comfy. 😉
Let’s be fair, English isn’t Roko Ono’s first language.
You mean Engrish 😉
if the ‘artwork’ looks like a chair or couch it justifies the fact me sitting on it
never been into modern art
“Liechtenstein” Sorry, looks like Yoko wins.
Dammit, too slow!
I hope Adam doesn’t fix it; It adds to the comedy.
Just have Yoko thinking the correct spelling in a thought bubble.
plus, unless the rules are different in avant-garde scrabble, proper nouns are not allowed..
If you’re referring to the country in the last panel, it’s spelled “Liechtenstein”.
Oh, and I had to laugh hard at the Mona Lisa one.
Lichtenstein, as Roy Lichtenstein. Bug wins!
Yoko fails, his name is Roy Lichtenstein. After all its Avant Garde Scrabble, not Geography Scrabble …
Thank you.
Do the people who tried to correct the “Liechtenstein” “mistake” fail at artsy parties?
Love the “Yoko” bug!
i love her little boots

my first thought on the last panel: you aren’t allowed to use proper nouns in scrabble.

I love how good bug feels about himself in panel 3.
As someone whom has accidentally devalued and defaced modern art by mistaking it for furniture, this is no laughing matter…
that being said, that was the most comfortable sculpture I’ve ever sat on…even after I broke a big piece of it off 🙂
Yoko then merely smiles and gives you a blank piece of paper.

Cop a squat?
Oh, wait, duh XD I had “pop a squat” on the brain. Took me a minute there.
Is it wrong that I find the girl bug in panel two very cute? -^^-
No, it’s just wrong to admit it publicly. Like…did you ever find Bugs Bunny attractive when he dressed up like a girl rabbit to confuse Elmer Fudd?

Me neither…I was just askin’…
LOL at panel 2 — reminds me of the animated short “Charades,” in particular The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Quotations 🙂
not very good i didnt even crack a small smile
