That is almost exactly what I thought to myself to convince myself to not be afraid of the dark when I was a kid. I always said “there’s billions of kids in the world why would a monster come after me?”
Great minds think alike, my friend.
I used to tell myself “I’ve been around for 6 years already, why should the monsters choose tonight to attack?”. Unfortunately I quickly hypothesized a direct causal link between watching a monster movie and the opening of the gates of hell. At this point I’d just hope they waited until I fell asleep before eviscerating me.
For me it was The Phantom of the Opera. I still remember the confusion on my dad’s face when I woke up in the night (I was about 7) and sobbed that The Phantom was going to strangle me. That’s what my dad gets for letting me watch Jeopardy at such a tender age.
This comic has gotten a lot more 3D in it with the text and shadows and bed and what not.
Let’s hope your not trying too much to fast! Doesn’t look like it yet, this comic is hilarious!
The added possibilities must be like finding extra gears in the transmission of you car. Zoom, look at me go. Your art is now like a favorite food that just got more yummy and Tasty.
I never worried about a monster under my bed. I didn’t have any space for one, lol. My bed had drawers that filled up the whole area. But I rather like this reason too. 🙂
This is why the monster was never under the bed. He was in the closet. Didn’t you know that monsters like to try on your clothes? It’s a fact!
And they’re messy too. That’s what happened when you put on a shirt and realize that there’s a stain right on the chest when you could have sworn there wasn’t one before.
Actually, monsters -such as myself- feed on fear. They are atracted to the child that fears most, and only kill it when it stops being afraid, because it has become useless.
So now you know that you have nothing to fear as long as you are afraid. How is that workig out for you?
As I’ve heard it, “Havoc” was originally a Viking battle cry. It gained the meaning of mayhem and destruction we’re familiar with later through association with all of the s***-wrecking they’d do.
I was a little weird – my monsters were never under my bed. One was under my covers, but only at the foot of my bed, so the only way to be safe was to sleep curled-up near the headboard. I still had to be under the covers because of the other monsters, though.
Also, I love the demon – he’s oddly cute- and cool-looking at the same time.

I like the comic book font for the “CRY HAVOC!” Very snazzy.
Hehe, this one! I like this one right here.
The Monster From The ID
I thought you could only see it when it was caught in a force field. It could be it’s cousin.
…the banality of evil.
Under my bed as a kid, it wasn’t monsters, it was the melting face Nazis from Raiders of the Lost Arc.

…I was a strange child.
Love the C&H ref in the title! That was intentional, right?
Yep. Was wondering if someone would pick up on that.
…And let slip the dogs of war!

Yeah, still experimenting with the freedom and options I have by working digitally now.

It’s a known fact if you jumped from far enough away and covered yourself with your blanket, monsters couldn’t get you.

It’s on the internet. It must be true.
Thanks, I have now had that version of the song stuck in my head ALL DAY.
That monster is awesome! He looks like a disgruntled pokemon.
I never get the lyrics to songs right, glad to know I’m not the only one

Confusingly.
Wait, wait, what? That’s a real song? I always thought someone made it up to use in Grim Fandango. o.o
