yeah… there’s a whole passel of oddities in the office now… standing desks, treadmill desks, bicycle desks… and people who choose to sit on a big round ball instead of a chair. It’s like working in a circus.
I put a coffee table on my desk at work to make a standing desk because our garbage chairs were starting to make my lower back and tailbone hurt all the time. Now I stand up, and my feet kinda hurt all the time!
On the plus side, having the standing desk makes it even easier to look down my nose at my colleagues. Less neck strain.
I have a friend who is a farmer. His wife gave him a Fitbit. He was amazed how many miles it recorded while he sat all day, bouncing around on a tractor.
I spend near-enough all day standing up, and can’t wait to get a chance to sit down! Though I’ve worked all day sat down at times, too, and that can get pretty miserable.
I guess it’s one of those things where you have to keep a mix.
Sometimes it would be nice to have a standing desk at work… but, I drive semi so that might cause some issues.
Maybe if I worked at the garbage dump.
Field workers tend to be outstanding in their job.

Just wait until the treadmill-desks and cycle-desks become mainstream. You’ll never feel more guilty when eating one of those office donuts.
Wait until they turn those treadmill/cycle desks into the main generators for the building [to be “green”].
Production will drop off the scale.
Nerd bug’s pose in 3rd panel…so perfect.
Your form has noticeably gotten better! I like it.
Love the hands in that panel– and the huge gut(?) sticking up from the coffin.
I am seriously considering a treadmill desk, I got a “Fitbit” and became appalled at how little I move in a typical workday.

I’ve always been a bit amused when my 3DS records thousands of steps that the bus is taking for me.
I want a standing desk that can lower to a sitting height. My solution is to take my
old toybox out of storage and put it on the desk.
