I think EVERYONE’s prayed for ol’ Beelz to napalm their school at one point or another. I personally also prayed to Jesus, Zeus, Thor, Gozer the Destructor, and Iggy Pop hoping for their divine help.
Usually when Adam intends to introduce a new character, he’ll draw it twice within the same week while it’s fresh in everyone’s minds (eg backwards cap bug). But sometimes the reintroduction can be delayed by a few weeks though still be in the same month, such as for dad bug:
However, in this case, mom bug happens to be standing next to what looks like the real dad bug, legitimizing this mom bug. That means the brunette mom bug from earlier this week was a one-off. Just “a” mom bug instead of “the” mom bug. It also means that “the” mom bug is drawn indistinct from a generic girl bug which makes me kind of sad. Even sadder, it doesn’t look like grandpa bug from back in July is going to be recurring either:
What did it for me was the extra planks which were apparently standing up of their own volition or pounded into the ground behind the unfinished castle-fort.
the 2nd frame really got me. that is exactly what my summer holidays as a kid used to be like 😀 reminds me there is a ship project i am planing to finish one day! and a watch tower.
Shouldn’t it have been “Beelzebug”?
Also…I almost counted the nails, but resisted the urge. I’m sure to overcome my OCD now, right?
‘Scuse me while I go shut the front door a few more times…just to be sure.
I know went Planet of the Apes on my praying and wished my high school would have been nuked. Ever go into a general science class with half the high school football team and the teacher uses your final exam score to grade the entire class on a curve? I learned where they stored the hazardous stuff for defense, not just the grade…..

Kudos for the Ghostbusters reference. I love that movie.
Since until recently, I lived in my school, this wouldn’t be a good idea. I prefer the DIY approach anyway.
“I accept your designation.”
Laughed so hard that I nearly fell off my chair. Not a hyperbole – twas a serious and nearly life-threatening situation.
😉
Prayers to Beelzebub without a blood sacrifice are doomed to fail.
Ah the camera angle was wrong on the frame – we don’t know what was under the bed!!!!
You mean ichor sacrifice. They are bugs, after all.
Hey, look, Mom Bug dyed her hair! 😀

but I hope I’m wrong.
That wasn’t Grandpa Bug – that was Bug in the future as an old man.
Nope, just forgot to color in her hair. Will fix.
Dear Adam, Please make some Nerd Bug merch. I will buy it. Thanks! Your fan, D.
i went to a boarding school for 12 years imagine how hard i must have prayed.
Interesting.. If the school was napalmed, and you were a boarder.. don’t you think such thoughts are a tad suicidal?
Dad bug doesn’t believe for a second that his son is a little angel
This comic put a big, stupid grin on my face.
4th panel ftw… I am a school teacher and even i feel that way 😛
As someone who was *terrible* at tag (and subsequently spent most of recess being “it”), the first panel made me laugh pretty hard.
I counted the damn nails…
I did too. 🙂
What did it for me was the extra planks which were apparently standing up of their own volition or pounded into the ground behind the unfinished castle-fort.
so did i. But I’m an accountant so that’s my job…. LOL

Woohoo! Flaming hat trick!

I counted the nails just to make sure!
The third panel was quite reminiscient of calvin and hobbes for me.
I have to ask, late though it may be:
How many people actually counted the nails?
Me.
