Summer Bummer – Part 2

So, with a new school year starting, I thought I’d write a comic about how this sort of thing bummed out when I was a kid. Turns out I already kinda did a strip about this. Thankfully, this isn’t as egregious as the “Clean Toilet Fiasco.” At least this strip has different jokes.
Being homeschooled, I never got summer break. I was always bummed when other kids got to play, and I got to do advanced geometry calculus biology algebra. Man I hated that subject…
I’m currently homeschooled, and, although I know the feeling of not going outside during the summer, I never hated any of the subjects I was taught. I actually accidentally taught myself calculus somehow.
But I loved the two Clean Toilet comics! I’m actually offended by you calling that a fiasco, Adam. The Clean Toilet Egregiousness, for instance, sounds way better, although I’m sure there’s superior alternatives.
You’ve been repeating yourself a lot lately. Getting worried.
Twice is a lot?
We didn’t want you to get worried. So we only told you about two so far. 😉
They’ve been in school for over two weeks around here. Sad. No partial days either since they completed the 12 year “air condition the schools” rehab projects. We just keep inching closer to year round child care, oops, I mean year round schooling.
Adam, nothing wrong with repeating a theme–school return melancholia–but you did it completely differently and just as excellent this time around.
Thanks!
I still think in the Summer Bummer Part 1 that it should be Beelzebug, but…that’s just me, I’m sure. I’m weird that way.
Anyhoo, I don’t think that there’s anything to worry about with Adam “repeating” himself. As is mentioned above, the jokes are always different and fresh, so…no harm, no foul.
P.S. The Frisbee bouncing off of his head in panel 1 is hilarious!
in re: Frisbee bouncing off his head, and he doesn’t even say OW!
Yeah, going back to school after a summer of freedom is a depressing prospect.
most people call it a running joke instead of a fiasco. It is like Lucy always pulling the ball away from Charlie Brown at the last second.
