so very true. Martine Luther King, George Washington…we still celebrate their birthdays. There are probably others, but I can't remember them right now.
Well, we do say they’re immortalized for a reason. We continue to celebrate them, because though they’re gone, we want them to keep being an influence. That’s why infamy doesn’t earn the same posthumous birthday parties.
I would say birthdays celebrate the fact that you have one less year to live, year after year reminding you of your ever reducing lifespam. I don't celebrate birthdays… A 80 year old person can be younger than a 65. But, don't you ever try to explain this to anyone…
Happy Birthday! Now you're one year older! Happy Birthday! You're life still isn't over! Happy Birthday! You did not accomplish much. But you didn't die this year, I guess that's good enough! This one made me lol.

The Arrogant Worms agree with you.
This is the song my sister and I sing to each other on our respective birthdays. We’re a bit twisted.
Happy Prize Day. Love the new archive.
You know, there is so much truth to that…….
Except when you are famous.

I know of a place that’s open for business “every day except Johnny Cash’s birthday.”

Man I told this one guy the exact same thing last year on his birthday. Needless to say he didn't take it that well…
Your birthday is 10 years and 2 days before mine!

here's a prize for not croaking this year!!
I am so going to use that!!
That's not true! I can't even count how many times I've heard "oh, and today would be his blahblahy birthday…"
I loved the exoskeleton in panel three.

"lifespam" that's an awesome typo 😀
Heh, I'm gonna use that line on the next friend who has a birthday. "Here's your prize for not croaking this year!"
haha you know, this is true. So weird I read it on my birthday! (technically ten minutes after it had ''passed'' 12:10 am)

I have a similar opinion, that we actually celebrate being one year closer to the end. It's pretty sad actually.
Well, the only exception is famous presidents and historical figures.
