Does everyone in a green convertible with the roof down look like Yoshi to you, too? 'Cos man, that freaked me the hell out the first time it happened….
I need to work on my Ed Harris Technique by re-watching "The Abyss," but every time I watch it I find myself involuntarily holding my breath for long stretches.
Speaking of video games, I would attempt to imitate Duke Nukem kicking with his mighty boot. Strange enough, my shoes kinda look similar to his mighty boot.
Just a quick shout out. I added Bug RSS to my Google Reader a few months ago and want to congratulate you on providing consistently fun stuff. The bug character is remarkably expressive — well drawn! (and of course, well written). Thanks for all the posts!
Panel 2 reminds me of this show that used to be on tv called "Supermarket Sweep", and at the end they would have to run through the store and get as much stuff as they could to total the most money. They would get specific things, running around to different parts of the store rather than just running down the aisles pushing stuff in the cart as they went. I understand that $30 Pampers are great, but toss some dish soap or cleaner in the cart as you're running by it!!
As someone who LOVED The Abyss as a kid (probably watched it like other kids watch their favorite movie over and over again), this comic thoroughly made me laugh hard.
Remember, if you ever do win the 5 min. shopping spree, let them know to keep the cases open and to clear the store of any pedestrians. I know I’d be mowing people down with my cart on the way to the Battletech stuff.
This reminds me: I once read in a video game magazine about a scientific study that found kids who played racing games, performed better on their driver’s tests. Apparently the more realistic ones like Gran Turismo give them a rough idea of how to handle a car, so they took to real cars more easily.
LEGO LEGO LEGO! Actually, Toys R Us rips you off. If you have a LEGO store near you they charge actual MSRP instead of inflated prices. Seriously, Target and Walmart are better for LEGO and other toys than Rip off’s R Us.

xD driiiift!
Make sure to make a pit stop in the RC aisle, too. // LEGO City + RC earth mover = fun cleaning 😛

4th panel:
Boy bug: Honey watch this.
Girl bug: I'm watching. I'm even watching the cops behind you.
Boy bug: Oh crap! I'll pull over and let you out.
Girl bug: ok. What are you gonna do? Outrun them?
Boy bug: I'm gonna try.
*Boy bug is chased by bug cops a la Dukes of Hazzard*
Why are user-suggested continuations/replacements never funny?..
Everyone thinks they're funny. Most are wrong.
Maybe its due to boredom.
I hope they allow victory laps through the lightsaber shelf.

Oh god, I thought I was the only one who did Panel 2. I could never drink enough kool-aid or afford enough cereal, or stamps, to enter those contests.
Very very funny stuff. After a marathon Mariokart session last night I banana-peeled several cars on my journey to work this morning!

Liked listening to your interview.

"I'm the best!" Hahaha! Toad is Awesome!
This is by far my favorite comic! 🙂
Stupid green shells!
Too bad the new Mario Kart games suck.

Oh man, I think I remember that show!
I laughed pretty hard at the last line .
But I laughed even harder after I did a Google search and listened to a clip of it.
Yeah, Toad was my driver of choice for Mario Kart 64. My friends got real sick of hearing that when I won a race.
I was either always Yoshi or that pimp Wario.
lmao the last panel is super bad ass 😀
I always play PacMan while driving. The dotted lines are the pellets and the other cars are the ghosts.
hahahaha great comic!
Cool. I discover a bug comic on the day my bug comic posts.
Toys "R" Us does NOT appreciate it when you fill a cart and race to the check out counter as a practice run…sigh.
lol! Yay Legos!!!
The fourth panel is totally me, whenever I play Gran Turismo I drive faster and more professional in real life.

as soon as i finished i couldnt stop grinning with laughter so i couldnt read the comments for half a minute
Did that "I'm the best!" happen to come from Toad in Mario Kart 64?

Thinking about Pole Position actually helps me drive better. “Light touches…light touches…”
At my local Toys R Us, the video games and Lego aisles are basically right next to each other, with nerf in between.
nice
